Day 11 - Travel Day to Alexandria, Louisiana

Submitted by:  Karl and Marion Kerns Rig #12

The day started with the Wagon Master leaving River View campground in Vidalia, LA about 9.30 AM.  It was a misty day but no rain to speak of. We really liked this campground.

Rig 12 pulled off the road at about mile 36 to rotate drivers and Rig 20 stopped to check, a very nice protocol.

Lunch for Rig 12 was a shopping center just before LA167 junction north of Alexandria, good leftovers. Arrival at Indian Creek campground was 2.30 PM.

On I-49 south of Alexandria I saw ponds on both sides of the road, clearly raising crawfish or catfish. I am sure we are going to learn how to tell which is which as we travel further south.

Indian Creek is a lovely spot on a beautiful reservoir, real camping as we like.

The misting has become a bit heavier but the cookout is still planned for 5.30.

Pizza and fruit pies on the open fire was a great idea and carried out by Donna & Joe Risley #16. Everyone pitched in and we really had a great time with just spots of rain every now & then.
